Welcome to Calvary Baptist Church

What a privilege it is for me to serve you and see the hand of God on His church. Building on a wonderful past, we are asking God to help us become a church where all her members want to invite anyone and everyone to come to Calvary Baptist to encounter her living Lord. This is our mission! We are firmly convinced God has placed us here to fulfill a mission “to develop passionate followers of Jesus Christ, and to serve our community and the world in faith, hope and love.”

Biography - Randy Brown, Pastor

Randy Brown grew up in Northeast Louisiana where he came to know the Lord when he was ten years old. He surrendered to the ministry at the age of 20. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, having received a Bachelor of General Studies degree in 1991. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1996.

Pastor Randy served as a youth minister in Louisiana and Tennessee for 10 years. He has been pastoring since 1996 and pastored New Light Baptist Church in Mangham, LA and Mooringsport Baptist Church in Mooringsport, Louisiana before coming to pastor Calvary Baptist Church in January 2006. Randy’s best friend and ministry partner is his wife, Becky. They have been married since 1990. Becky works as an Executive Administrative Assistant for a construction and demolition company. Becky also helps with our church’s Wednesday night meal, she leads a women's Bible Study, and she helps Randy teach a young adult couple’s Sunday School class.

Randy and Becky have one daughter, Missouri. She attends Lufkin High School. She is active in the school choir and she teaches in Power House, our children’s worship.

Randy loves serving as pastor of Calvary Baptist. When asked what his greatest passion is, he states, "I want to lead Calvary Baptist to be a church attempting great things for God and His kingdom.”

We are:

	Connecting – highlights the importance of worship and fellowship. Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love God with all that we are and the second was to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. (Matthew 22:37-40)
	Growing – highlights the importance of knowing God’s Word and allowing it to guide our daily lives. It is our desire to grow passionate followers of Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 3:18; John 15:5)
	Serving – It takes all of us working together for the church to function as God intended. (Ephesians 4:11-13)
	Going – moves us outside the church walls into every part of our community and the world to share the Good News that Jesus Christ has provided a way for us to be reconciled with God. (Matthew 28:18-20)
